Western Australia is the dominant origin for feed and malt barley leaving the shores of Australia. An ample barley crop of 6mmt in 24/25 and limited domestic demand has left the State with ~5.5mmt available for the world market. Domestic demand along the East coast keeps a lot of the crop onshore there and although there is limited exports from SA this year, due to an extremely challenging season, SA would normally be a significant export contributor.
