The Australian barley industry is fortunate to have four regional Barley councils that bring together barley industry participants to consider current issues and help coordinate the industry on a pre-competitive basis. Normally meeting twice a year, the councils from each region (GIWA in WA, SABAC in SA, SEABAC in Victoria, Southern NSW, Eastern SA, and NBAC for NNSW/QLD) are a focal point for barley breeders, agronomists, brokers, research and government agencies, storage & handling companies, stock feeders, maltsters and brewers.
